Tauentzienstrasse with the sculpture "Berlin"

The Tauentzienstrasse is the eastern extension of the Kurfürstendamm, and is itself an important shopping street. The Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church stands at the western end of Tauentzienstrasse, the KaDeWe department store is located at the eastern end. The sculpture "Berlin" by Brigitte and Martin Matschinsky-Denninghoff was put up in 1987 and was intended to symbolize the division of the city. On the right, the Europa Center with over 70 shops and restaurants is visible.
