Former GDR State Council building - ESMT

Following the death of the first president of the GDR Wilhelm Pieck, the collective body of the State Council of the GDR was set up. The State Council building was erected in 1963. Among the architects were Roland Korn and Hans-Erich Bogatzky. The reconstructed portal No. IV of the historic Berlin Palace, which was demolished in 1950, was integrated into the facade of the new building. It is now used by the private business school ESMT - European School of Management and Technology.
