The Dome of the Reichstag building

The Reichstag building was built for the German Parliament in the "Spreebogen" from 1884-94 according to plans by architect Paul Wallot. In 1933, it was damaged by arson. After WW II, the Reichstag building was rebuilt without the original dome. In the years 1995-99, a new debating chamber and a new dome, designed by British architect Lord Norman Foster, were added. Since 1999, the Reichstag building has been seat of German Parliament "Deutscher Bundestag". The roof terrace and the viewing platform can be visited by prior arrangement with the visitor service of the Deutscher Bundestag.
